This week’s RAW was the night when the Shield was finally served justice. The numbers game caught up with the Shield for the first time ever as they had to fend off a stiff challenge from 11 rebel superstars.

However, the trio didn’t go down easy as they managed to knock out 7 of the 11 stars. They looked pretty strong even in defeat as they stood up to the daunting task put ahead. Of the three, there was this one man who managed to knock the stuffing out of most of the opponents with his Spear. Roman Reigns showed why he is a force to be reckoned with as he went on a spears’ barrage to eliminate anyone who stood in front of him. The feat of three gut busting spears has earned Reigns the title of the most improved wrestler of the week.

Roman Reigns has always been the less talked about wrestler in the Shield. He has been overshadowed by Ambrose’s mic skills and Rollins ability inside the ring. But this week, Reigns proved why he shouldn’t be taken lightly after he displayed a great performance in the main event.

The Roman Reigns domination in the ring started after the second break, where he squared off against Titus O’Neil. Reigns and Rollins then team up to take on Titus who gets caught in the Shield corner. Reigns then came up with a huge spear to take out Titus.

The next spear came in almost instantly as Reigns took out Justin Gabriel in less than ten seconds. This was followed by a spear to Zack Ryder who tried putting up some resistance with a dropkick.

Reigns was then pinned for the first time in his WWE career, which is reason enough to understand why he needs to be less overlooked.

Vince and WWE have always been very supportive of men who have a good physique. This is where Reigns can score over the other two in the Shield. Ultimately, when the group splits, one can expect Reigns to reach the top faster than the other two mainly because of his strength and size.

One simple example for this is Ryback who after failing miserably in his initial push has again been brought back to fight against Punk. The same will happen with Reigns who I presume will not falter in his first push. The reason being that he has had enough exposure to manage the limelight.

Roman Reigns can be considered the game changing contender of the group. Irrespective of the match, he has always been involved in moments that has completely shifted the momentum of the match on the Shield’s side. In fact, his spear has been instrumental in helping the Shield win a lot of matches and has even helped pin John Cena, which is a rare sight to say the least.

The Shield has been surprised greatly by Triple H‘s decision of putting them in such a confidence denting match and this could prove to be the beginning of the end of the group. While Ambrose and Rollins look to get away from the Triple H regime, Reigns could stick to being the bad guy and we might see a handicap feud between the three.

After watching RAW this week, one thing became pretty clear – the Spear of Justice has been the Shield’s biggest tool and this will help Reigns push forward his career in the future.
