The Game is currently the COO of the company and undertakes several developmental and creative roles within that, but he always turns it up the second Motorhead starts playing and he makes his way to the ring - but the 14-time WWE Champion had a pretty surprising statement when asked whether he’d continue to wrestle going forwards.

In case you didn’t know…

While Triple H isn’t a full-time performer by any stretch of the imagination anymore and we see him in a suit way more often than in trunks, you can still normally bet on The Game getting a huge pop and putting on a great match at least twice a year in WWE.

This year, Triple H had potentially the match of the night at WrestleMania 34 when he teamed with his wife, Stephanie McMahon, in a rare match and her first ever WrestleMania appearance against Kurt Angle, who hadn’t wrestled on a WrestleMania card for a decade - and a debuting Ronda Rousey who would have her first EVER professional wrestling match on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Just a matter of weeks later, Triple H then put on an incredibly fun match in Saudi Arabia with John Cena, with both men getting an incredible ovation from the crowd throughout.

The heart of the matter

On this week’s Lock Up podcast, Triple H was asked about his future as a WWE performer alongside his current backstage and office roles.

Triple H started off by praising the WWE Universe and speaking about his WrestleMania match, saying he was proud of all three people he shared the ring with.

The Game went on to praise the fans for their support…

However, in an unexpected turn, Triple H went on to hint that we may see a lot less of him in the ring going forward.

The WWE COO suggested he may take a step back from wrestling due to how draining it can be when he’s got so many other responsibilities to the company.

What’s next?

Well, who knows? I for one would never think that this year’s WrestleMania and the Greatest Royal Rumble could have been two of his final matches.

Author’s take

All eyes open for people disobeying authority on Raw or SmackDown and hoping it results in a match with Triple H - or even NXT. I personally think Triple H feuding with a star in NXT would be phenomenal and give someone a huge rub going forward.

Triple H always looks great and I really hope he continues to wrestle on a similar schedule to what we’ve seen recently.
